Our Story

A community built from scratch.

Precinct sits on what was once heavily industrialised land — used for warehousing, chemical storage, and distribution. Before a single foundation was poured, significant contaminated soil was excavated and removed, transforming a brownfield site into the foundation for a modern residential community.

Developed by Salvo Property Group and constructed by ProBuild, Precinct opened its doors in December 2013. Since settlement, the committee of owners has guided ongoing upgrades year on year, making Precinct one of the most secure and well-managed apartment complexes in inner Melbourne.

From industrial land to community.

Pre-2010

Industrial Heritage

The 2-acre site at 601 Victoria Street housed warehouses, offices, and chemical storage facilities. Significant contaminated soil was removed before construction could begin.

2010

Construction Begins

Salvo Property Group broke ground, with ProBuild managing construction across five buildings. Salvo contracted Essential Community Management for the initial five-year OC management period.

December 2013

First Residents Move In

Buildings A, B, and C settled first, with the first residents moving in just before Christmas 2013. Buildings D and E followed shortly after.

2014–2020

Progressive Upgrades

The buildings committee, chaired by the same chairperson since settlement, adopted a prevention-over-cure approach. Year-on-year improvements to security, infrastructure, and common areas.

Today

A Secure, Connected Community

Precinct is today one of the most secure apartment complexes in the area, with 24/7 management, UHD CCTV, and a well-maintained 2-acre estate that continues to improve.
